Project Aedes is an interactive walk-through attraction developed from February of 2016 to February of 2017.
I worked with a team of 50+ students to create the five minute experience. Working with the Gantom Torch, (a controllable flashlight system) I created a meaningful and interactive guest experience, allowing the users to experience different flashlight effects based on their location in a room. I met with Gantom over the course of three months to build a working relationship, where they then felt comfortable providing us with the interactive technology we needed to make the experience a reality.
In addition, I developed story beats for the walk through, taking into consideration guests flow, hourly capacity, and sight lines. I raised $2550 in funding through SCAD’s Inter-Club Council, worked with a dramatic writing student to develop the attraction script, and worked with the fabrication team for installation and strike of the set.
To host the event, I helped establish an Eventbrite page for registration, and organized volunteers from the TEA@SCAD club to assist in running the event. Over 300 guests in total came through the experience over the course of three evenings.
